Counseling and Clinical Psychology Journal
is now being published as Psychology
Journal. All research appropriate for CCPJ may now be submitted to
Psychology Journal.
The purpose of CCPJ is to publish original, scholarly manuscripts exploring all areas of the science and practice of counseling and clinical psychology. The scope of articles published in CCPJ includes empirical (quantitative, qualitative, and methodologically sound case studies) research, literature reviews and syntheses, and theoretical writings on topics that have implications for counseling and clinical psychology research and practice. This journal is intended as a scientific publication. It is our goal to publish only quality, scholarly articles.
Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:
studies of the development, revision, or validity of assessment
instruments useful in clinical practice
psychopathology/mental illness: its development, diagnosis and/or
assessment, correlates, and treatment
"normal" processes in mentally unhealthy populations and unhealthy
or unusual behaviors in "normal" individuals
clinical issues in different populations and different practice
settings
influences of change; mechanisms within and outside therapy
standards of professional practice
service delivery issues
education and training of clinical practitioners
activities of practitioners (assessment, supervision, interventions,
prevention, psychoeducation
career and vocational counseling and psychology
investigations of clinical theory and its applications
process and outcome research
studies investigating the practitioner, the client, and
practitioner-client matching
efficacy of interventions
While we do not actively solicit or commission them, we also consider submissions of brief book reviews and critical test reviews.
